So, like the title says, this guide will show you an easy way to get from lvl 1-20 in 5 hours or less. I've made WAY to many characters that have gotten to lvl 20, so I decided to make this guide for people that might need a bit of help with the beginning lvls.
(This guide is mainly centered around fighters, but there are parts of this that mystics can use as welll, which I will point out when they arrive.)
So you start of killing gremlins in the starting area. Kill these until you reach lvl 4. If you want, you can use the soul shots that the two people give you, but it's up to you.
After you reach lvl 4, head to town to pick up the remainder of your newbie shots. Then, take the recovery scrolls given to you and sell them. Buy yourself the lowest grade weapon of your choosing (I suggest a club, since nothing resists them, and quite a few things are weak against them) and some armor. (Shirt and Pants, along with the lowest gloves and boots will work)
Next, go outside and hunt wolves until you reach lvl 6. At this point, go to town and get the quest to kill orcs. Go kill about 5 orcs (not really that hard, just don't pull too many) and hand in the amulets you get. This will give you roughly 6,000 newbie shots that will be crucial to the completion of this guide. Next, use your newbie travel tokens to port to Talking Island. (You may ask, why there? You'll see.)
Go talk to the weapons trader and pick up the wolf pelt quest. (40 wolf pelts for a piece of armor which you can either use or sell, depending on your preference)
Go outside town and hunt the wolves there, either regular or elder, and once you get the 40 pelts, hand it in. If you want, you can use the armor you get from the quest, or sell it. I'd say, if you can use it, use it. Adena isn't really that much of a problem for this guide.
Pick up the wolf pelt quest one more time and grab those 40 pelts. Again, if you can use the armor, then use it.
By now, you should be lvl 9, possibly 10. If not, keep repeating the wolf pelt quest until you are. At this point, go hunt the orcs that are outside the village. Orc Grunts are best, but if you can't kill those easily, then just regular Orcs work fine, as long as you kill them fairly quickly. Kill these until about lvl 11-12.
Depending on how much adena you have (a minimum of 15,000) go back to trader Simplon and upgrade your weapon. Don't worry so much about the armor, because a better weapon is much more important than better armor.
By now, you should be fairly well off with equipment and such. Go outside town, near where the orcs are, and hunt the werewolves and goblins a little farther north. These will be a bit harder, and will take a little more time, but the exp is worth it. Kill these until you reach lvl 13.
At this point, you'll have a good chunk of adena. Go to your starting town and complete the weapon quests. (This is mostly just for a bit more adena, and the newbie shots/potions) If you want to use the weapons you can, but I suggest selling them to upgrade your current weapon. (Upgrading them is best, because you do more damage) Also, at this point, you should have enough adena to upgrade your armor to a wood set.
(side note: if you don't know what the weapon quests are, check out L2 stratics, or the quest log here and it will explain it for you.)
Go back to Talking Island. (Again, this is where the blunt weapon will come in handy.) Teleport to the Western Part of Talking Island (it's way in the Northern part of the island) and hunt the Granite Golems and Crashers there. These are some of the best mobs for lvl 13-20, since they give upwards of 700 xp each, plus they have a good chance of dropping jewlery.
Kill the golems until roughly lvl 17. If you want, Talking Island has a quest that allows you to get a Wooden Breastplate for killing and collecting shards from 5 golems. It's somewhat irrelevant, but do this quest if you want to.
At this point, you have a choice. You can either stay hunting golems until lvl 19, or, you can go to Gludio now. I suggest going to Gludin, since the mobs that will be explained shortly are easy killings if you have a blunt weapon, and give slightly more xp.
From Talking Island, use a newbie travel token to teleport to the Elven Village. (From here, teleportation to Gludio is the cheapest.) From Gludio, teleport to the ruins of agony. (Make sure you still have at least 9,000 newbie shots, or, if not, you have about 1,000 regular no grade shots, and also a good chunk of potions.)
From where you are teleported to, go across the road. Here, there are Ruin Zombie Leaders, Tracker Skeletons, Tracker Skeleton Leaders, and Skeleton Scouts. If you have a blunt weapon, this is basically a paradise for you, since all the mobs respawn fairly quickly, and give a good amount of exp. And, since herbs drop here, you won't need to use too many potions.
With those, you can easily get to lvl 20 in about 2 hours, depending on your playing style. (That's from lvl 17. If you stay on Talking Island until lvl 19, it will take you less than an hour to get that last lvl)
Congratulations! You have now successfully gotten your character to lvl 20, and I'd be willing to bet that you didn't die once throughout the entire ordeal. At this point, go do your class change quest, change your class, then I'd suggest trying to find a nice clan that will let you into their academy so you can get the clan armor. As for a weapon, I've yet to discover a good way to get a decent d grade weapon with ease.
Thanks for your time in reading this, and I hope it helps you lvl your fighter in relatively short time!
